1) Trickster's Choice by Tamora Pierce

Not bad.  I had a bit of a hard time getting into it at first, but I ended up enjoying the characters and story.  I actually look forward to reading the next book in the series, and might want to read the books in other series that give background on the lands.

I've been really interested in local produce and humanely raised livestock for a while now.  I'm slowly trying to shift my diet in that direction lately.  It's hard, because our society is so involved in fast easy food, but I get really inspired by several authors and blogs I follow.  That's why I'm so excited about the garden and the chickens.  We ( Read more... )

I read so many short books this month that I ended up with 31 books in 30 days.  I read the entire Spiderwick Chronicles and although it was 5 books of about 100 pages each, each was full of drawings and only took about 1/2 hour to read.

I  was actually sick of Audiobooks for a bit this month.  So I stopped reading for a bit.  I still ended up with 10 Audiobooks and 75 hours total.  I also read 8 Books including 2 Sin City Graphic novels and 3 more Series of Unfortunate Events.

 So I did slow down on the books.  I've been working out a lot.  I can't listen to audio books when swimming or doing exercise classes.  So I scrambled to listen to a bunch of books at the end of the month and  ended up with a record time for reading audiobooks.  But it took me so long to get through Elizabeth Costello  that I didn't read many ( Read more... )

  I had written up a great post but as is posting in livejournal, it accidentally got deleted.  So the most important stats from January is the huge amount of Audiobooks listened to, 18, making up 29.5% of total audio read last year and 26.2% of the time spent (125 hours!!!).  A couple of the audiobooks were as short as a little over an hour.  Of ( Read more... )
