I am Desultory

Occasionally details slip in and out of memories: this happens to everyone. What is more interesting is when concepts and entire factions of memories slip in and out of existence.
I've just remembered that Beethoven was not anywhere near death when he wrote Sonata Pathetique; he was 27. After a moment of panic in which I reviewed the last year of practice and interpretation of that piece based on the approach of death, I also remembered that he was beginning to go deaf at 28. The immense tragedy is not of life, but of loss. This actually helps, with the third movement.
Ah, I don't know.
I am Desultory.
