I am in Jury Duty from hell. We are finally in deliberations and one of our Jurors acts like he's being personally attacked whenever anyone disagrees with him. Hopefully he'll be easier to deal with tomorrow morning after a good night's rest.

Oh My God what a night.

We started out with the First Night Austin parade and effigy grandfather clock burn. For most of the Burners in Austin, this was like having the Pope show up at Burning Man. Momentous. The pain has gone away and the swelling has gone down. My hearing is still dampened in my ear - I guess I'm waiting for the eustachian tubes to drain. I still want to sleep all the time - having an earache while family was in town really ran me down over the weekend. Thanks for your concern. :)

In the 24 hours following my previous post, my condition got worse. My pain increased to a constant throb with occasional spikes (that felt like spikes), and I developed a fever of 101.6. I have an ear infection. It went from "itchy inner ear/nuisance" on Wednesday to "why can't I open my mouth all the way or hear out of this ear" on Thursday. I went to the doc-in-a-box and the doc took one look in my ear and diagnosed Swimmer's ear. He wasn't even with me for 5 minutes. Walked to the People's RX next door and got some ear drops.
