Why, in my THIRD year, do I decide I suddenly want to join a bunch more societies?
I'm already in Treasure Trap, but since I'm not a ref any more, I'm planning on going less this year, and trying to get into more things. But there are so many things I want to do, it's difficult deciding what.
There's Creative Writing Soc, which doesn't start till the 21st, which I'm going to go to and see what it's like. I mean, if I do end up applying to East Anglia for a Masters in Creative Writing there (pretty much the only respectable course for it in the country) then it'd look good on the CV, and it'd be awesome to get some feedback from impartial people.
Then there's Improv Comedy Soc, which I tried going to a couple of times in my second year and really enjoyed but never really made time for, which I'm going to start going to on Saturdays instead of adventures occasionally. Maybe alternate - Adventure, Improv, Saturday Off For Dissertation. Man, that sounds responsible. But I went to their workshop yesterday, and it was huge fun.
THEN there's the two drama societies, of which I'm more interested in the Hill College Theatre Company, because they seem way more easy-going and less, well, drama-queenish. They're doing a play called 'Translations', which I'm not going to go for because it's in Ireland and I SUCK at accents, but they're doing 'Canterbury Tales' later in the year, so I might go for that.
Later in the year. When dissertations and essays start piling up. Smart, Katie.
And then I have a feeling that, at Army Bop last night, I might have agreed to go to cheerleading practise this evening...
