Zarek manages to corner her on her way back from the bathroom.
“Laura.”
The intensity in his gaze makes her want to step back, except she’s already got her back to the wall.
“Mr. Zarek,” she replies coldly.
“Always the ice queen. Don’t you ever tire of that?”
He steps closer, stroking her cheek with the back of his hand. She can smell his arousal, and it sends shivers of fear down her spine.
“Madam President, are you all right?”
Lee. Thank the Gods.
Zarek steps back, smirking.
“Of course. We were just chatting,” he says, “now that we’re friends.”

Tom finally manages to catch her alone on her way back from the bathroom.
“Laura.”
The time for flirting is past.
“Mr. Zarek,” she says coldly. Playing hard to get.
“Always the ice queen. Don’t you ever tire of that?”
In truth, these games, they turn him on. He steps closer, stroking her cheek with the back of his hand.
“Madam President, are you all right?”
Lee. Frakking cockblocker.
“Of course. We were just chatting,” Tom covers smoothly, “now that we’re friends.”
She slaps him across the face, leaving Tom staring after her in confusion.
“I thought we were friends!”
