Spring break...
All in all, it was relaxing and successful. After spending the first weekend in Ashland broke and starving I headed up to Bend. I had a great couple of days hanging out with my parents, relaxing, and eating. On thursday we headed down to Portland. Portland is a great place, and I wish I could spend much more time there. I can hardly wait until I move to a large city. I love the interesting people, exciting atmosphere, and fast pace. Thursday night we saw "Celebrity Row" by Itamar Moses at Portland Center Stage. It was a world premiere about Ted Kaczynski, Timothy McVeigh, Ramzi Yousef (responsible for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing) and Luis Felipe (head of the Latin Kings). It was a fascinating look about evil (what it is, and what motivates it). It was fresh, cutting edge theatre, and very exciting. It was incredible. On Saturday we went to the Portland Art Museum. I had never been before, an you really need to take two trips. After seeing a little of everything, I now want to go back and really spend some time at the post-modern and expressionist exhibits. I love the contrasting colors and elements of both art movements. We were there for four hours (and we were all exhausted at the end) but I was very glad we went. That night we had amazing Italian food and went to Powell's, a must see and my Dad's favorite spot in Portland. On Saturday we went to Japanese Gardens although it was a little cold to spend that much time outside. I would like to go again when it is warmer out and more things are in bloom. Around noon we got in the car to head to Lincoln City, only to have my parents' Subaru break down five minutes outside of Lincoln City. So instead of spending the last night at the beach we had to get the car towed to Salem, where J-lo was parked (I was going to head to Ashland from Salem). We ended up spending the last night in Bend, which was sad, but since I had such a great time in Portland, I wasn't too disappointed.

And here I am back in Ashland. Thank god that it's April, and the weather better be getting nice. I am sick of snow, and I don't want to see another snow flake fall until next November at the earliest.
Tonight I have to work on sketches because I played almost all week long, but it was worth it!

Peace.
