Wednesday night Hob and Boom took a late walk to the tracks with the Collie pushing her Fisher Price popcorn popper toy there. She extended the handle with a stick taped to it, and it was popping all the way, funny putting such high use on a toy that was meant to be used on a rug inside mostly.. :) We are the test users, seeing if things can stand up to heavy use, and the popcorn did.
Coming back we walked the back streets of Kearns in the dark and no one was around, looking at an abandoned house on the outside and seeing how things looked in the dark. I've done that stuff before, and now it's great to have the Collie with me to do it with too.
Thursday, Hob and Boom went to Kentucky Fried Chicken, while Werevereen stayed back to save his money for the Furry events coming up. We ate inside, and were barking about how I remember them playing the same kind of music in the background as they did when I was going there with my mom and dad, and yet they were promoting really new stuff like Rock Star with a big poster.
The food was good, and then we walked around the parking lot a bit, seeing how things had changed in a few years, with a wall between Chicken and the building next store that was a car wash, and past the Payless shoe store that has been closed for a long time. At home store Busy Beaver the lights were on in their garden area and they were playing oldies too, but no one was there. We keep finding ourselves in places that mimic being abandoned, like everyone has just disappeared and left everything going. Going back to the car there was a guy walking behind us, and Hob barked 'That looks like Freddy Kreuger!' and it did. That got us laughing good.. :)
Next it was to Walgreen's to look at sell out Halloween stuff and Roll Over Rovers, still all Xmas ones that don't work woof as well. We went to Giant Eagle after that for food, and when we got back Hobnose's computer wouldn't boot up, and her UPS backup was screeching. We don't know what happened, maybe there was a power surge while we were gone, but the power supply brick for the computer was dead. We tried to fix it, but Boomer ended up having to put one together from these open frame supplies in series, and using the cord from the old supply. It's much bigger, but capable of more power and it works woof.
We started to watch Left Behind part 2, and Boomer fell asleep while Hob kept watching. It felt like being in a car and falling asleep at the drive-in when the late movie is on.
