Coffee and Collie
Sunday was 'get Hobnose some new shoes day'.. :) We tried to get her some at the thrift store on Saturday, but there weren't any good ones, and she was distracted by all of the other cute stuff there. On Sunday the thrift store is closed, so instead we went to K-Mart and found some neat canvas loafers for her with a design on them. Hobnose usually buries her old shoes, but she decided to 'take care of the problem' right outside of the mall and toss the dead shoes in the trash can right there.
Came home and did some stuff on the net and a little clean up. We had wanted to go to Einstein Bagels, something that Werevereen had suggested we do, so we did that late in the evening. Leaving the house we met Tommy, a neighbor who was out for a walk, and we all barked to him for a bit. Tommy is the owner of Heidi, a Golden Noodle Dog who I've barked to Hob about in the past, so it was nice to see him. Tommy walked with us down the block and then went on home.
Einstein's wasn't open, so we ended up at a Starbucks near by. Hob and me got teas and Werevereen got a regular coffee. We came back and hung out for a while on the net, and then Hob thought of seeing Camp Bow Wow, at 11 at night, spontaneous Collie. We went there with flashlights, and smashed an old chair over a bridge, then looked for a foundation, a concrete slab she found before, and had some deers spook her while scanning a patch of trees. Just after that, a bunny spooked her, and I guess it's seeing something moving where you don't expect it that be a little surprising.
It seems like Hobnose and me are out most of the day on the road, and we're catching up on everything we missed with each other since April of last year. What I woof about might sound like regular stuff right now, but it's great to be catching up on fun, and hearing about some of the sad changes in Hob's life too. It's been ruff for her, with the loss of Saintly and her home, and other things that have happened, but there is a sunny side to life, and our time doing fun things proves it.
