This week I helped my friend Bruce fix his water heater. He lost his hot water one day and found a hole in the bottom of the tank, and a few inches of water on the basement floor. He tried to put a big screw in the hole to stop the water just for a while, until he could get it repaired, but that didn't hold, too much pressure.

We thought where we could get a used tank, and Bruce said to try Craigslist, the site with classified ads for the local area. Someone had one for $125, and we went across town to get it. It's a 40 gallon and fit across the back seat of the car, with the back doors open a foot on each side. It took a day to put in, from getting parts at the hardware store to change the inlet and outlet pipes around, to taking the old heater out and soldering, but we did it and it works woof well!

This morning I had a dream about a Bear. In the dream I was looking out to the back yard, and saw a brown Bear near the neighbor's wall. I wanted to go out there and see him right away, because he looked friendly, but I was a little wary and cautious. I went out and the Bear didn't run away, and I went over slowly and petted and even played with him for a short time.

I thought about it being a really special moment because I'd never done that before, and then saw my mom at the window in the dining room looking at us. I don't know if I waved to her to come or not, but I wanted her to, and she did come out, and was standing there talking to me. I wanted her to go back and get her camera and take a picture of the Bear and me, and she didn't go right away, she kept talking and I was worried that the Bear would walk away before she got back, and there would be no pictures.

I thought it was great how I was able to get so close with the Bear to even play with him, and how friendly he was, even as I knew that the moment wouldn't last. Maybe I was thinking of the film of the Huskies and Polar Bears playing together that has been popular on net video, but I can't remember thinking about it..
