Fantastic Birthday Weekend!!!!
It was such a great birthday!!! I got spoiled rotten with presents from S, I had a long leisurely weekend with him and my friends camping, and even though it was hot and muggy, we made the best of it. It was the best birthday yet!!! I'm so lucky to have so many people that care about me. I've gotten so many cards and presents, I'm amazed and flattered. Don't know why, I just am. I've got to get out of this old mindset of "H the nobody". I have made a ton of progress with that, but every once in awhile, I forget.
So what did I get???
From S: a 20 bottle rotating spice rack with spices included, a 15-min battery recharger with extra batteries, scented soaps, 4 72 CD capacity Case Logic books, Poison Ivy treatment (don't ask), an Adidas visor for softball, and tix to see Muse the following Friday! Wow!!! AND he made me the sweetest card. I love it, it makes me laugh everytime I look at it.
From my parents: money to buy my text books for school in the fall and pay for student teaching requirements (liability insurance, background check).
From my brother: an oil change a couple weeks ago, a shaker and martini glass set, and $20.
From my sister: a GC to the new IKEA in Canton
From Becky: a cool massager and candle
From Chris & Danielle: a battery-operated air pump that will save me tons of time in the future!!!
From my boss: a monkey photo album (for pictures of my monkey!!! ;)
From my coworkers: a signed card (finally I get a card signed by everyone!!!)
From trainee #1: a lip balm
From trainee #2: a card
From Yuli: IOU lunch
From Grandma & Grandpa: same as usual, $50 check
All in all, a pretty profitable birthday for me!!! And believe me, I was not expecting nearly that much stuff! I feel very blessed.
But sadly, my birthday is over, I'm another year older, and life goes on. Work, work, work and hot, hot, hot weather.
This week, starting today, is the Ann Arbor Art Fair. I'm not sure I'll be seeing it this year, but we'll see. I only go to see the art. I never buy anything. Too much $, I can't afford it.
Fortunately though, I'm done with all I need to pay for student teaching prereqs and such, and all I have to do is turn the stuff in and I can register. Better remember to do it today!!!
Ok, well, that's all the latest. better get back to work... ugh...
