Distractions from Gross Anatomy

I went to a Baha'i service today. It wasn't a real service--just a Baha'i fellowship/potluck thing. I certainly liked the people. I am interested in learning more about the faith. I think world religions are fascinating, even if I don't really belong to one anymore. We got to listen to a college kid who did a year of service to the Baha'i faith in Tanzania. He did a slide show of his pictures, and it was awesome. I have always wanted to go to Africa, and I think I've found an internship thing that will let me, provided I get accepted. I'm so excited about it, and I've been spending almost all evening looking up everything I can on the potential locations and activities as I'm preparing the application. I really should be going over clinical correlations and perhaps have another go at the Netter's flash cards--especially the foot muscles. I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly think that all the dissections of the plantar (sole) foot muscles look like a cat's scratched them up. I'm really not good at distinguishing the different plantar muscles yet.

I also went to Sam's Club today. I bought an enormous bulk bag of fairtrade coffee beans. I wonder if the fact that I bought it through one of the arms of Wal-mart negates the fact that it's fairtrade. I'd like to think not. The bag should at least last me until early March.

I did manage to get all my recycling dropped off this week. It was a massive load for me, (it being two weeks worth).

Also, it's been pouring all day with an 80% chance of rain tomorrow. The rain supposed to continue into Monday, and I'm supposed to run 8 miles according to the half marathon training schedule, which won't be fun to do on a treadmill. I don't know if I'm hardcore enough to do it in the downpour. If only it would break for about 2 hours sometime tomorrow morning so I get that over and done with.

Tomorrow is my sister-in-law's birthday, and I'm driving to Conway to meet the family for dinner at Marketplace. Happy Birthday, Cathy! I think you'll love your gift.

So these are all the things distracting me from Gross Anatomy: Baha'i, recycling, grocery shopping, dreaming of Africa, needing to go for a run, sister-in-law's birthday.

Also, a special thanks to Deidre Wyrick for letting me use her computer periodically so I can do the Tank Questions as I prefer to do them: in flannel pajamas listening to indie rock on the internet, and drinking a cup of coffee. A lot better than the LRC--though I cannot wait until HP sends my notebook back.
