Two things

Cut for those who want to skip the first. I would.

No much to say, except that I don't think that what killthwight and I posted here was anti-American sentiment.

There are serious reasons why Latin-American citizens of various countries have the right to be angry when Americans start pontificating on how they are the 'saviours' of the world, and how it's really the damn communists (which are not all that different that the nazis or the fascists) the thing that's wrong with it.

I... find that I'm not much in the humour of listing them. I have American online friends, and relatives I like, which have lived there or are living there now. I'm not in the mood for tiptoeing around the issue and trying to be extra sensitive because people will continue reading stuff that is about a governement and its amoral international policies as an attack on the citizenship. Because it's not. Or about the propaganda they and we are fed as some kind of personal accusation of ignorance. If anyone _wants_ to discuss it--which I doubt--understanding that from the beginning, then I've no problem, but otherwise I will shut up now and avoid antagonizing more people.

The subject is depressive as hell.

The second is a rec for a meta article about magic in HP. It's too cool to comprehend, really.

I've yet to sit down and read it carefully, but they had me at the abstract! "Origins of magic: review of genetic and epigenetic effects."

meta, silliness, politics, hp
