one step forward, two steps back (it's the duet from the Sixth Sense Musical, y'all!)
Today, I skipped out on a family barbecue to hit my Big Bang goal and felt lame about it. Mostly because when I tell my family I'm writing, I know they all hear it as Writing, with a capital W. Which is... lame on their part, honestly. Pressure much?
Anyway, goal was met and surpassed:
Yay!
Also, after yesterday's emo whininess (terribly sorry, folks), I woke up today to an email telling me I'd been randomly selected by Dreamwidth to receive an invite code. HAHA. EAT THAT, KATH! WE SHALL EMAIL YOU FREE CODES AND MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A TOOL!
Um.
So I debated. A lot. And I realized that with virtually NO users over there yet, tons of awesome usernames were still available. So that is basically what motivated my decision. Because yeah, my username here is simple and I guess memorable? It will always be my main internet handle, I'm sure. But it's BORING, and occasionally I get all drooly/jealous of people with awesome names.

So now I have a username that gives me happy tingles. As of right now, that's pretty much all it is - just plain old name-squatting and a way to keep track of the people who do exile themselves to DW completely. And then, obviously, in case of LJ meltdown or expulsion, or whatever, it can be a backup. I'm not leaving here, though, unless they force me. After seven years, taking off just like that? HELL NAW.
