Sufficiently boring friends

I would like to point out that I could have just as easily labeled this sufficiently interesting friends but the point I want to make would be would be missed . I have been friends with these people for thirty years and hope to be for thirty years more. In addition I would point out that they are interesting enough to have sparked this little essay

This post made my head spin after I posted it, that i need to clarify.
Many evenings with Bill and joan are crazy, and often result in someone so hysterical she almost pees herself. I wont name names.
note: bill and I would pee himself if that were the case

The purpose was to point out that there are times when people like me dont need and dont want an exciting evening. Sometimes we just want to pass the time between sleeping with some comfortably boring friendship.

I think I would have used the word "comfortable" rather than "boring", but I think I understand what you mean.

In my case, not that you asked, but I'll tell you anyway....I have no energy for anything but a rant and read on LJ or a quick chat with my Dad or Mom. I don't have to worry about socializing as I now live in D.C. and don't know anyone very well. I did actually go over to my hairmessers new apartment last week to see her knew apartment. It wasn't my idea but my Mother's and it ended up being a very nice evening.

I just don't have the energy lately to hold up my end of a conversation so talking to anyone would be rude anyway because they wouldn't understand I wasn't being quiet out of fatigue or depression or whatever it is.

In any case, Chicken and Dumplings has to be one of my all time favorite dishes, especially this time of year when it's cold outside. It is so comforting so I hope yours was good. :D

No, I think boring was trying to say. I am comfortable with Bill and Joan at any level of conversation. I enjoy their company, period

I get you, but just for future reference if you ever call me a boring friend I will take it as an insult. So refer to me only when boring as a comfortable friend. :D

My friends are not boring, the visits I was talking abou were sufficiently without stimuli to be 'less than exciting'

yeah, it's like its OK to veg out, no need of trying to make convo, enjoy the food with company, but don't have to talk about it sorta thing.
