LAPTOP:
Since meilleurekimiko never got back to me when I told him what kind of laptop I'd be looking for, I started looking on my own without any help. There's one newer kind (I'd rather not settle for something older or secondhand) that fits my needs, in stock at a store about one hour away from where I live for about $500, with the store itself having a special deal where it includes a $100 printer for only about $40, making it a total of $540 before taxes. I've already worked out a payment plan with my parents to get it asap even though I have less than half of that in the bank right now, and will be going to pick it up Saturday, meaning I will own three computers: my desktop, my presently-failing laptop, and this newer laptop. What I'm going to do with the old one hasn't been decided yet, but as I mentioned in my response to meilleurekimiko's comment in the last laptop-related post, I'm planning on using the new one for my games, for the sake of convenience to both myself and my parents; they get irritated sometimes when I play on my desktop overnight when I'm off from work.

I'll likely be putting Ragnarok Online on it, at least, since I occasionally still rarely play SagaRO, but I'll definitely be putting Mabinogi on, which I've been actively playing for the past week now and have found it more-interesting than the other games I've played because it's so different from the rest. Flyff is probably going to be shelved completely, as I've been losing interest in it since itaminofutago quit playing on the official server, and I'm unsure of the situation in Asda Story, since my in-game partner (itaminofutago again) has apparently stopped playing that as well from the look of things, leaving me without the benefits of having a partner in that game, and unable to break the existing partnership to look for a new partner since both of us need to be on simultaneously to do so.

I'll have to make sure to put Megazeux, ZZT, Cave Story, Chelsea and the 7 Devils, and my emulators on it too.
WORK:
Over at work, I've just learned that our bosses' bosses are once again endeavoring to cut our hours, by about 2-3/wk, by cancelling the production of the Ashtabula County Messenger, which was a little side-job that we'd do on friday nights after the regular newspaper itself was finished. Tonight and next friday night are the last two weeks for it, then friday night will be like any other normal night: short, and far too easy. They aren't cancelling the Madison/Perry Messenger as well (yet), however, so we still have extra work on saturday nights.

Most of my coworkers would welcome the opportunity to do less work since a lot of them can't wait to get home even minutes after we start working, but I'll need to insist on more early runs to keep my hours.
IRC:
I've had no further response to my wondering about putting my mIRC script to use, so it would seem that almost nobody is actually interested. Oh well, I'd been losing interest in the idea, myself.
DARK CORONA / WRITING / ROLEPLAY:
Well, since I'm going to be having a bit more time to myself now, I think I'll try my hand at writing. Again.

While it'll end up being another part of the Dark Corona storyline, it probably isn't going to be Dark Corona in title; I'm thinking that I might try to make a side-series entirely of my own characters and ideas without anything that was inserted by anyone else. Dark Corona was originally mine alone, until it ended up being used as the plot of an older RP several years ago and then had a few characters borrowed from it and eventually ended up being a part of InsertPlaceHere with characters and ideas from a total of five people including myself, and as we're apparently no longer RPing together, I'm going to go back to just doing solo work with my storyline again, touching up on parts that need no input from anyone but myself. At this time, I want nobody else doing things with my characters or ideas without permission; if anyone wants to use anyone or anything I came up with for your own story work, ask me first, please.

What I'm currently thinking of for my new idea is set around the early 990s of the entire timeline, before most of the storyline's events have taken place, and will be involving a girl named Litania, who has already been determined to eventually marry into the Hisako family and to later be the mother of Bronera Édren. The majority of the story's cast will be completely new, but there will likely be a few characters familiar to those who know about Dark Corona.
