(no subject)
Well, I've been busy hence the no posts for aaaages. I don't think I can even remember what's happened since I last posted but i'll update on my awesome weekend :)
Friday, finished work earlyish. It was Kenny's birthday and he went off to the cinema with Alan whilst me and Xtine baked him some super rainbow snowball cakes. It was sooo hard!! He ate three of them so they couldn't have been that bad! I think he appreciated the little surprise. And he got to blow out candles...even if we couldn't fit 35 candles on them!
Friday night we ordered an amazing chinese takeaway and stuffed ourselves silly full of delicious food. Note to self - order pork in black pepper sauce AGAIN! nom nom nom..
We then drove through to Peebles and Xtine and Alan stayed at ours all weekend. We went for a walk through the woods on Saturday and I got to take lots of pictures of mushrooms :D (on my flickr). Now I'm wishing I knew which ones were edible as I adore mushrooms and there were so many. I think one of my pics is of magic ones! Shame I didn't know...
We then went home and Kenny made an fabulous dinner of steak, chips, corn on the cob, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms with peppercorn sauce.OMG it was SO tasty. Then then then we had profiteroles kindly bought by Xtine. I was truly stuffed. I think I'll definately need to go to the gym on Monday (oh yeah...have started gyming again since Kenny miraculously fixed my back with some simple stretches).
We then on Saturday night had a ridiculously long game of Risk. Apparently it was a big game when Kenny was younger. I bought him the board game for his birthday as a kind of reminiscent present. The game went on for about 6 hours!!! I lost..badly! But everyone else seemed to enjoy. The hardcore gamers went on playing til 3am.
And then today....we went for a wee walk to the high street and bought some tasty sweets from the old sweetshop. Then we went for a lovely lunch/dinner at the chip shop cafe.
But now....I'm so so so sad and lonely. Xtine and Alan have gone home. And Kenny has gone away for a whole week to Leeds for training for his new job. I'm so happy he has a job (and another offer if he wants it on the side) but I'm so sad the training is so far away. He'll be back at the weekend but then he has another week down there after this one. We've never really spent a night apart since we moved in together. I'm so lonely! It was horrible saying bye :'( I know I'm a lovesick puppy.
Back to work tomorrow. This week and next are going to be hellishly slow.
And that's my weekend of good food and happy times.
