I got a new job!!
I got a call on my application a week ago, and the nice woman said they wanted to interview me Friday. So I spent Friday afternoon at their offices, doing their editorial tests and talking with three of the editorial staff, and it went really well. Apparently, REALLY well, because the HR woman just called to make me the offer. Not only do they want to hire me, but they're offering me $9,000 more than I'm making right now.
HOLY SHIT, people! Tomorrow I can go to EvilCorps, give them their two weeks' notice, and watch them realize how very fucked they are now that there's an indefinite hiring freeze in place.
Oh, man. And the people I met with on Friday were SO NICE, and the office is right downtown on Michigan Avenue, and I can take the train, and they'll GIVE ME $50 a month to encourage me to take public transit, which I'm totally going to do.
