Toki looked up at the neon red sign that blazed on the front of the rundown store. He knew his friend worked here and would give him what he wanted despite his young age. He opened the door and a bell chimed through the shop. A woman with short blonde hair was standing at the counter reading a magazine. She looked up when Toki entered, “Hey. How can I help you?”
“I’m looking for someone,” Toki replied harshly.
The woman raised an eyebrow, “Gonna have to be more specific than that.”
“Ada.”
“Yo,” another woman said stepping through the purple beads that separated the back from the front of the shop, “Someone call my name, Sora?” She was taller than the blonde and had dark hair hidden beneath a cap, multiple piercings lined her ears
“Yeah,” Sora responded, setting the magazine aside and motioning to Toki, “The cutie here.”
Ada’s face split into a grin as she recognized the boy, “Toki…long time no see. What can I do for you?”
“I want a tattoo,” Toki replied without hesitation.
“Hmm…alright…what of?”
Toki reached into to back pocket of his tattered jeans and pulled out a crinkled sheet of paper, “This.”
The woman took the paper, Sora peering over her shoulder, and nodded, “Wings? Easy? How big?”
“I want them to take up most of my back,” he replied.
Ada scratched her chin and then nodded, “Alright…but I hope you realize how much that’s going to hurt.”
He scowled, “I’m used to pain, Ada.” He thought about the pummeling he had received from a certain jock in the past…which led to sneakier thoughts of his current relationship with said jock.
“Alright. Come on back…this design is easy enough for me to do freehand.”
Sora went back to her spot behind the counter, her eyes following Toki as he headed into the back of the shop with Ada. She smirked, even if he was young, he was still cute.

Toki bit his lip to try and force back the tears that were welling in his eyes. He wanted this tattoo so badly but when Ada had told him of the pain he hadn’t thought she meant this much.
Ada moved the ink across his back, a frown of concentration on her face, she was halfway done and Toki was holding up pretty well in her opinion. “So why are you getting it,” she asked, trying to take the boy’s mind off the pain.
He was silent. Not sure how to word a reply. Besides, what business was it of hers? “No reason,” he said in a low voice.
Toki hissed as the needle went over a particularly sensitive area of his back. Ada gave a small smile of reassurance that Toki couldn’t see, “Don’t worry…we’re almost done.”

Clockwork pulled the robe away from his skin, letting the cloth fall to the floor. Dan quirked an eyebrow and Clockwork caught the look in his mirror, “What?”
“Just looking at your tattoo,” Dan replied.
“Why, you see it all the time,” Clockwork muttered, his hand brushing the very bottom of the winged markings.
“Yeah…and every time you refuse to tell me why you got it. I wanna know!” Dan whined.
He shook his head, grabbing another shirt and pulling it on, “And every time I’ll tell you the same thing. No.”
“I hate you.”
Clockwork smirked, “A new shipment of bricks should be coming in soon.”
Dan bit his lip.
