i'm home
i got home yesterday around 7.5 or so. unpacked my stuff, and took a shower. those two little tasks were a chore, since a 6 hour drive, despite being seated the whole time, is quite fatiguing. crashed sometime between 9 and 10, i think.
i slept straight until 11.5 today or so, and woke up with the family over for zombie jesus day. that took up most of the day. we ate some good food, and hung out and caught up with one another for a while. when the sister left, i went out and gave my car a much needed bath, including applying armor all to the interior as well as vacuuming the upholstery. looks like it just came from a dealership, and i'm damn proud of myself. laundry is currently nearing of completion, and i managed to do all the homework i had been neglecting over my spring break this afternoon as well.
in addition to all this, i broke out the weights from my garage. i've been slowly shifting towards a healthier lifestyle, which so far has included cutting back on the cigarettes, no more pot, eating better (and more often). i decided over the course of my trip that i would add some more excercise to this healthy lifestyle shift, so today i have begun a light weight training regimen to help myself get back into shape. maybe when i get my finances squared away i'll start up some sort of other physical activity. some form of martial arts (right now i'm leaning towards capoiera (sp?)) or yoga. maybe both. if i could find someone to instruct me in either of these for free, or at least an extremely low cost, i would be able to do it a lot sooner.
i'll have to wait until monday to really get a feel for what the trip took out of my finances, but my impression so far is that i didn't spend as much money as i thought that i would, which is definately a good thing. labrynth of jareth is coming in july, and then burning man in august, so this summer is going to be pricy, and it's rapidly approaching. all things considered, i'll be able to float it if i budget well.
all in all, it was a good trip, good to see cindil, and a well deserved vacation.
