my how the times have changed....

I spent this afternoon at Abigails 1st birthday party. (laura's daughter). The afternoon consisted of me, tanya, susan, and laura all chasing our kids around - making sure they didn't fall or run away or fight. I kinda stopped and laughed at the whole scene and realized... 3 yrs ago we were all childless and didn't have a care in the world and we partied together all the time. Now things are so different. We used to sit around and talk about where the next party was - now we talk about which brand of diapers is the best. It's amusing to me. I guess Susan realized the same thing cause in the midst of us helping the kids down the steps she said something like "well this is quite different from what we used to do on saturdays 3 yrs ago". And all I could say is "my how the times have changed". haha. I suddenly felt like I was 40 yrs old when I said that. Not that we don't still go out or go to parties - we all still do... it's just different now
Susans daughter (Isabella) is the oldest - she just turned 2. Ailee will be 2 in June. Tanya's son (Damien) will be 2 in September and of course Abigail is the youngest being that this is her first birthday. So we all had children within a year of each other which is weird but also pretty cool. I'm really proud of Laura because she's quite a bit younger than us and she eased into the transition of motherhood like a natural. She's not yet 19 and she went from wearing fishnets and a mohawk to being like Martha Stewart now. I think 3 yrs ago if a psychic had come in and told the 4 of us we'd all have kids within the next year we would've just laughed. This post has turned out to be rather long. It's just amazing to me how lives can change so quickly. OK I'm done with the reminiscing now. ;)
