Wow. What a night. It was planned back in March that since my Civil War final was the last final for all 5 of us in the class, we'd go out afterwards. Which we did. By about 5:30 we were at a bar named Lia's, which happened to also be the location of last night's senior night event due to their crazy Wednesday happy hour specials. They had fun drinking, I had fun watching and giggling...and did manage to drink more than I've ever had before. Meaning possibly close to the equivalent of half a can of beer. Over 3+ hours. Whatever.

By some point one of the girls left, so there were the "original 4" who had become friendly first. Having been there since so early, we didn't want to hang around anymore, but didn't want to go home. So we piled in a car and headed all over. With Alex playing DJ with an iPod that was blasting quite loud with us all singing along, we first headed downtown to the World War II memorial. After hanging out there for a bit and getting a bunch of fun pictures, Rich suddenly suggested that we all go down to Old Town Alexandria, and when he and Kathryn heard that Alex and I had never been down to the waterfront in Old Town, off we went. Then back to DC to go to Haines Point, where we climbed on and took pictures of The Awakening, an odd statue, as seen here. Since we were the Civil War class, ended up back at the Lincoln Memorial to take a few pictures before heading back up into Maryland to get some food at a diner.

So...8 hours, 2 states + the nation's capital, and 53 pictures before my camera battery decided to die. Finally got home a bit before 2am and actually passed out on top of my bed while I was getting ready to go to sleep. It's just too bad that I won't be around in DC this summer, because after having so much fun last night they've all decided that they need to do this more often. I'm hoping that maybe we'll go out again sometime in the next two weeks while I'm around, but otherwise we were talking about a weekend in Atlantic City in July or so, which I could definitely drive down to from New York.

Lots of red eye to get rid of, but then once I get some of the pics up on facebook, maybe a few will make it here as well. :)

Oh yeah, did I mention that was my last final? I'm sure I did, but seriously I'm done. Two Honors Program functions today, Honors Convocation on Saturday, graduation Sunday, and that's it. With taking my parents to see the exhibit I worked on at the National Postal Museum on Friday and going out with friends for my birthday on Saturday thrown into the mix. w00t!
