The past few days have been fairly good.
Hung out with
pico_the_great Wednesday and Thursday. We talked of worldbuilding and other things, painted pottery, watched The Hobbit, ate Thai food, and cooked food at her brother's place. Also, I borrowed lots of books.
Last night my parents and I went out to a Thai restaurant we'd never tried before. We ate lots of delicious food, including a particularly good soup and a pineapple curry. It was more food than we could possibly eat so I will be (gladly) eating the leftovers for dinner tonight.
Parents left this morning to help my youngest sibling move into his college apartment. I spent the day running errands: getting my iPod fixed (cord error), picking up my new camera from Best Buy, and then popping over to Barnes & Noble to use my gift card. I am very excited about the books I picked up: a copy of Seamus Heaney's translation of Beowulf with additional commentary, a copy of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight translated by Simon Armitage (which is supposed to be very good), and - my favorite of all - Hobbitvs Ille, a Latin translation of The Hobbit. While I am very excited about the prospect of translating it back into English for myself, even if I never do so, I pleased to have bought it and supported the professor who translated it.
