First day of classes, first day back in the newsroom. It felt good to be back in the groove (save for my first and hopefully last class of BUS100). Got myself a pretty awesome BUS800 group, my politics class is incredibly fun (and full of first years, so you know it won't be hard on the GPA). There's even a hot mature student in the class, which may lead to good times. Probably not, but there's no harm in getting slapped for trying.
I ran into Amit, the sports editor, on my way back from class. We walked and talked back to the office, I uploaded some pics from Frosh and the tree that fell over, and just kinda lazed. I did manage to negotiate a theme with Amit for our "top 10 athletes," and it looks like "Rock Star" is the winner for this year. Amit added the thought of doing some covers of famous CD covers, like Abbey Road by the Beatles, although we'll have to see how that'll work out. I'm not a fan, but it's really his baby. He did like the idea of Gatorade labels on champagne bottles and martini glasses, which I hope Gatorade is willing to help out with. I really don't want to make no stinkin' gatorade labels.
I also got a start cleaning the archive room (where the old papers that no one picks up are kept) and we have now found the floor!
And now here I sit, with my pineapple stir fry on rice and a cold, well-earned Amsterdam Blonde. It's actually been a good day!
