Genesis Nostalgia

My first gaming system was a Sega Genesis. My brother and I, many, many years ago (back when we were still getting allowances! 2 dollars a ...week? Maybe every other week) saved our pennies and, after many months, bought ourselves a Genesis and Sonic 2. Our parents provided us with a second controller, yay. We loved it. We played it every day (we were only allowed 15 minutes each, unless we'd been really good or something). We weren't real great at first, but we got better. For the longest time, we couldn't get past Robotnik in Casino Night, and then when we finally did, we were so exited! But our time was up, so we had to pause it and leave it running all night. We had a power flicker and it was lost. We were both crushed. I was so sure we'd never, ever beat it again. Then we got stuck in Metropolis. Finally, after months and months, we beat the game. ...Well, I beat it. Jack didn't beat it until after Sonic and Knuckles came out. Funny, that, really. He beat Sonic 2 as Kuckles before he beat it as Sonic (using the lock-on feature Sonic and Knuckles had).

Anyway, we loved that Genesis. We owned all the Sonic games for it, the Ecoo games, and a whole lot of other ones... But those were my favorites. I miss them...

Monday, we (Mom, Jack, self, and Liz, who followed me home - yes, right, I'm on break... Should probably mention that. Back in VT) drove to the mall. I bought out Walden (I wish - bookstore, yay!) and, because I had nothing better to do, checked the games stores (the mall has two). Wasn't expecting anything new to be out or for them to have anything worth buying in the used games (they never do...). But, I walk into the EB and, wah! There on the first shelf if a game: Sonic Mega Collection Plus. For PS2. ..........seriously, I thought that thing where people think they're seeing things like that didn't happen, but I stared at it for a good two minutes before tackling it and running to the counter. ^^;

It has all the Genesis games. Sonic original, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic Spinball, and Mean Bean Machine, plus some others for the hand-held system Sega made way back when, and some... other things I don't really care about. I've since wasted a day and a half beating my old games.

Is it bad that I can still play some levels with my eyes closed?

....I missed my games!! *hugs*
