Getting the Gaming Itch again...

I was talking with a friend on Facebook who I haven't really seen much of for a few years. He was interested in hanging out more and I had suggested trying to get another gaming group started. Naturally that lead me to pulling some of my gaming stuff off the shelf and looking through the books and perusing some of the modules from Dungeon Magazine.

Looking back on Dungeon magazines from the 90's makes me appreciate what brilliant writers they had. I'm especially taken by some of Christopher Perkins' various low level adventures, which I am thinking of using as the starting point for this game. Perkins tended to create adventures that were more about the PC's using guile and wits than hack and slash. The monsters in the adventure tended to be bigger than what a normal PC would run into in a dungeon crawl, and you had to try and work around them more than bash your way through.

I still have a bunch of maps and other world building stuff I've made over the years. I may pull that out and see what I might find useful now.
