A Few More Hours...
Good morning, lovelies!
Today I'll be checking into Labor and Delivery. My Doctorman and I decided after a lengthy discussion of my situation and risks that inducing me would be just fine. I've already covered the issues I'm having(in my MySpace blog) with the discomfort of Elly riding so low and squishing my internal girl parts, the pressure she's putting on my sciatic nerve(oh holy SHIT ouch!) while up and moving(not to mention what her weight does to that nerve while I'm trying to sleep), my lack of sleep affecting my appetite...blah-dee, blah blah...
As of today I've only one week left until her due date anyhow so inducing, although a harder, longer labor, seemed reasonable. I'm pretty well suffering as it is...I mean, the discomfort isn't debilitating but it is causing me to not eat well or get any sleep which would in turn keep me from having enough stamina to handle natural labor when it did decide to come about...and that is a whole separate can o' worms.
I'll be up at the hospital sometime this morning between 5:30 and 7:00. I'm nervous but in a strictly good way. I couldn't sleep well at all last night so this is really going to be a long day for so many reasons. I'm hoping that once I get my epidural that I'll be able to rest a little before delivery. I'm also hoping that because my Doctorman believes my natural labor would have been pretty damn quick due to how low she already is that perhaps this induced labor just might not be as lengthy as they have a tendency to be.
I just can't wait...I'm excited, nervous, beyond happy and all the other wonderful emotions that come with the arrival of a precious little one. Jarred feels as if he's on top of the world, he's excited and so ready to hold his little girl. He doesn't quite realize how powerful the moment will be when he hears her first cry, sees her and holds her for the first time. I just can't wait to see him with her....
She's already so very loved...it'll be even more intense when she's in our arms at last.
