Chapter Three:
“Junhyungie hyung!” Dongwoon and Kikwang squealed as the elder walked into the school building. They hurried forward before halting at the sight of seeing Hyunseung walking beside him.
“Let’s get to class, Junnie,” Hyunseung said, wrapping his arm around the younger’s waist and pulling him passed his friends.
“Yah! Let go of our hyung!” They followed after the older two, stopping when Doojoon cut them off. He was glaring at Hyunseung.
“Why are you babying him?” Doojoon asked, voice sharp.
“He’s my boyfriend, Doojoon. And I’m not babying him.” Hyunseung tightened his grip on the younger’s waist and pulled him passed Doojoon. The eldest grabbed Junhyung’s wrist, pulling him away from his protector.
“Let go of my toy.”
“No.” Hyunseung tugged him back.
“I said let go!” Doojoon pulled against Hyunseung, trying to claim Junhyung as his own. Hyunseung pushed him away, his back slamming into the lockers.
“You see this, Yoon?” Hyunseung pulled Junhyung’s shirt up a little, revealing a tattoo-like pattern on his side.
“That’s…!”
“Exactly. This is the mark of the Jang Clan. He’s mine.”
Hyunseung pulled Junhyung along with him as he walked to class. Kikwang and Dongwoon stopped beside Doojoon.
“Yah, what’s that mark thing mean, Yoon?” Kikwang asked.
“It means that your friend is property of the Jang Clan.” Doojoon looked a the younger two. “Yong Junhyung will belong to the Jang Clan until he dies.”
Outside, Junhyung glared at his side. “Yah, Seungie, when did you do this?”
“Last night, while you slept. We’ll go today to have it tattooed. I drew it on there with a permanent marker.” He smiled at the scowl he received. “Junnie, don’t scowl like that.” He smoothed the younger’s features out. “You’re the property of the Jang Clan now.”
“What does that mean exactly?” Junhyung dropped his shirt, his curiosity piqued at being someone’s property.
“It means that if anyone from the Yoon Clan so much as puts a finger on you, a member of the Jang Clan is allowed to kill that person. My dad and Doojoon’s dad were friends.” He thought for a moment. “Well, my owner…”
“You’re…owner?”
Hyunseung smirked, pulling the collar of his shirt down to reveal a mark identical to Junhyung’s. “I belong to the Jang Clan by force. I’m not actually the son of the leader. He protected me from the Jang Clan and Yoon Clan’s enemy.”
“Who is stupid enough to be enemies with you guys?”
“The Yang Clan.” He stared up at the sky. “The son’s leader goes to this school. He has bleached hair and is so bubbly that you’d never think he’s a Yang.”
“Yang…?” Junhyung gasped. “You don’t mean that adorable kid that takes those stupid art classes, do you?”
“That’s exactly who I mean! I was being pursued by a member of his Clan when Jang found me. I was beaten by the Yang Clan and he thought I looked like a little, lost deer in headlights. He marked me and the Yangs left me alone. I became his adopted son shortly after.”
“Why are you telling me all of this?”
Hyunseung ran his fingers through Junhyung’s hair. “You belong to the Jang Clan now, so you deserve to know.”
“I belong to the Jang Clan…?” Junhyung’s eyes widened in fear.
Hyunseung felt the anxiety rolling off the younger. He placed his hands on either side of the younger’s face and kissed him. “You may have the mark of the Jang Clan, but you’ll never leave my side. I won’t let them near you if I don’t think it’s safe.”
“So, I belong to you, Seungie?”
The elder nodded slowly. “Yes, you belong to me.” He placed a kiss on Junhyung’s forehead. “Do you want to see your new home?”
“New home?”
“Yes. Once the Jang Clan marks you with their symbol, you move into the estate. There’s hundreds of rooms. Yours will be branched off from mine. Whenever someone marks a person, the one they mark will have a room branched off of their own.”
“How many people have you marked?”
“Just you.”
“Why only me?”
“Nobody else has been worth saving.” He pulled Junhyung up when he stood, leading him to his car. He fastened the seatbelt for the younger before getting behind the wheel. He maneuvered his car out of the parking lot and headed toward the Jang Clan’s estate. When they neared, Junhyung’s eyes widened.
“This is the Jang Estate?”
“Welcome home, Junnie.” He parked in the space that had his name and turned off the engine. He climbed out and opened the younger’s door for him. Three men in black suits surrounded him. “It’s alright guys. He’s mine.”
“The proof?” one of them asked.
Hyunseung smirked, walking over to Junhyung and nearly ripping off the younger’s shirt as he exposed the Jang Clan mark. “He’s mine.”
“Alright. Take him to your room. We’ll alert the others to clear him through security.”
“Thanks.” Hyunseung led Junhyung away, holding his hand firmly for effect. “You’ll be able to roam around a little bit. But I warn you, Junnie, do not stray to the basement.”
“Why?”
“If you do, Father or Mother will claim you as theirs. Do not, under any circumstances, go to the basement.”
“Alright.” Junhyung walked alongside the elder, their hands swaying slightly in the small space between them. He smiled, knowing that he’d be safe here.
