Caught a re-run of Toyota Football Up-Close with Ryan Giggs on ESPN Asia yesterday. It was a pretty standard interview, but I couldn't help being all fangirly especially on this part:
"Wayne is a sensible person. He knows how to take care of himself, he's quite mature, as do the rest of young players. I think there's no need for anyone watching over him but you know, the senior players, like myself and Gary Neville and Paul Scholes, we are always around, you know? They know they can come to us if they need to talk."
(or something to that effect, anyway :p)
That was his answer when he was asked whether him as a senior player is also responsible to watch over Wayne Rooney (especially regarding his behaviour off the pitch) and I was just absolutely melted at his answer. I mean, him and gaz and scholesy being big brothers to the younger boys is just so much love.
(and he has that habit of saying 'you know?'a bit too much, which I usually find annoying, but he's jus so adorable...)
