Birmingham 0 - 1 United

Well. What can you say about that really?

The fact that we let Birmingham get that much attacking share is ppretty worrying - Brum had a couple of almost goals! Drove me crazy, those moments. If we keep playing like this I don't dare to imagine Roma match. Carrick and Scholes better wake up soon because they just went missing today. The Brum's ( Read more... )

+ from the first half, i was scared we would lose. we were really sloppy. how many mistakes alone in that half? gah. so hard to watch. i thought i was gonna have a heart attack. and all our attacks came up empty. we would make a good run, but then carelessly give the ball away. made me quite angry. The first hald, especially the first 20-30 minutes was just painful to watch. Thankfully the defense was aware enough to handle the broblem - though the one where Rio made the (almost) goal-line clearance made me stop breathing for a few moments...

LOL the whole crowd in the pub I watched in were like that too when Cris dribbled through the Brum defence XD! They were all shouting for him to shoot or to pass (because he was being closed down) and when he scored - what a relief!! We were all screaming and shouting and punching the air and all *g*. And the celebration was just love.

And dare I say it - I want Giggs and Scholesy/Carrick to be benched against Roma please. Play Nani and Owen instead. I still have doubts on Nani because his final cross is often wasteful but Ryan was just a bit frustating to watch lately (sorry, ryan baby). And either Scholesy or Carrick has to make way for Owen, I guess, who I'm sure will do a splendid job. But I still want Scholes on the bench, just in case.

God I can't believe I just said I want Ryan ( ... )

Me feels safer when VDS is to the rescue, as well. (And he's faster to type, as well O_o) But, maybe Tomasz will surprise us all in the next game? :)

When he started talking to Scholesy I was like yep, yep, now slid that thing onto his arm please" only for him to walk away and put it on Rio.
Oh, I bet he was SO like "Scholesy, I can't, I'm so sorry - Ole doesn't like me putting the armband on you, see, he said he'd have me assassinated if I do..." :S

The conclusion of this comment shall be, I WANT TO SEE THE BOYS IN ACTION, NOW. Haven't seen them except for Match Of The Day (♥), which is on in 40 minutes fnsdknfdsn! ahh.

LOL I bet that's what Giggsy was saying to Scholesy XDXD!

Aw, you mean you didn't watch the match :S?? Aw, so sorry about that... hey, how about persuading your host parents to subscribe to Sentata Sports XD? I read that the subscription fee is GBP 10.00/month (which is quite OK price IMHO) and they have all the EPL matches live :D! hehe..

and erm... bottom line of this post is... I WANT THE PAPA!GAZ AND MAMA!RYAN AND THE WHOLE BUNCH OF UNITED KIDDIES FIC, LIKE, NOW ASAP *throws tantrums*!!!

I just can't wait to read it...

I'll start the topic at the breakfast table tomorrow - "If I washed your car and cleaned out the attic and took care of Noa, Pierre and Laura so you two could have a day off, would you maybe consider..." Um. ;D Because 10 gbp isn't really a lot of money, per month!

GNHH GNHH ON ITS WAY :D 'tis going to be a short night. I've had too much curry (yummy, indian food!) for dinner, and somehow, the spicyness had catapulted me into a state of awakeness. gnrflnkeld.

Thing is, I think Giggsy has all these ideas that he's trying to play, but no one else seems to be reading that. And I have no idea why this is happening! They used to have really understandings, and this season, everything just seems to be off!

I'm going to be really biased on this, but I think at least he's doing more than a lot of other players, or at least he's trying to.

Mmm, yeah, perhaps that's the case. They seem to not connecting properly like last year. If this continues... well, I'll tae any 1-0 that comes our way, as long as we keep winning.

It WAS hot! But I really love the Giggsy and Scholesy moment, so... *g*

I love the way Ryan want to put the armband on the other player, Roy would've only thrown it at them *gg*

We shouldn't be saying it's just Birmingham or whatever because they played well. They defended well and were organized. People seem to be forgetting that we lost to West Ham away last season; on occasion, we are unable to break teams down. It's slightly worrying that we seem to be getting by on 1-0 all the time, but I have faith in my team and I think if they really needed that second goal, they would've gotten it. Yesterday, everyone lacked good touch. Everyone. Especially Giggs. The ball was given away far too easily and I think that's the only reason we never created that many chances. We were messy with possession and that cost us when we got into the final third. I don't want to start complaining about the 1-0 win because I can clearly see that our team is going through a rough patch and Birmingham played well.

The thing is, it was just Birmingham. You know, I think when we made Brum look like they had a worldclass midfield, you know then that our midfield wasn't functioning properly. It's not that I don't have faith in the team or something - they are quite known in doing things the hard way afterall - but they shouldn't have struggled this much against Brum. It wasn't as if Birmingham had 10 men behind the ball...

Point taken about the west ham loss last season, but you could say then that we were having a blip because in the other matches preceding that we played really well. This season we're in this state from the beginning and it's beginning to be worrying. I hope it's just me and the boys will make me eat a HUGE humble pie by streamrolling Roma.

Birmingham did played very well, but we made it easier for them. Thankfully we were quite lucky at the back and we somehow always managed to score at least one.

I know Birmingham aren't a world class side, but they defended and played pretty well yesterday. Regardless of how we played, they did the best they could and made things difficult for us. You have to give those guys some credit.

I think the only thing that prevented us from scoring more than once yesterday was our touch. We conceded possession far too easy; I was so exasperated watching the ball be given away. None of the midfielders performed yesterday and it wasn't that we didn't make use of our chances or anything - we didn't create any! And why didn't we create any? Because we gave the ball away far too easily.

I don't expect United to steamroll every team. But what we need right now, for our confidence and to shut other people up, is to thrash a team. Like really thrash someone. Roma sounds good.
