I had a great time at Fort Fred, despite the wind's attempts to take the hat from every person there! Generally the weather was wonderful: low 70s and sunny. What heat there was from the bright sun was tempered by the cool wind. I spent way too much money and I don't mind a jot. The shopping was much more enjoyable this year as I had prepared a chunk of cash beforehand, and saved up in anticipation of spending all of it; I got all sorts of goodies, which I must endeavour to make good use of so as not to have wasted the money...!
I did, in fact, manage to finish my striped jacket in time - or rather, I *mostly* finished it, and
mandie_rw very kindly hemmed the sleeves and sewed twill tape to the centre front (to allow for an edge-to-edge closure) on the drive down; I was driving, or I would have done it myself. There are some woobles around the waist at the CF that I'm not sure how to fix, and the neckline needs to be lowered or taken in or both because it's waaaay too roomy, but otherwise I was fairly pleased with it.
Here is perhaps the only picture of my jacket, as I unintentionally photobomb a picture taken by
madamekat
Naturally as soon as I posted this, several more collections of photos sprang up, with quite a few shots of the jacket - although in some I look inexplicably upset. Very strange - only reason I can think of is that it was super-duper sunny!
There are more but they refuse to be inserted into this post; instead I shall simply link to the albums containing them, wherein you will find many more enjoyable photos of the entire event, and not just my jacket!

Some of the things will be quite useful as those extra, little-thought-of accessories. And now that I've finished the mad sewing for Ft. Fred, I must throw myself into 'teens sewing for the Downton Abbey Exhibit at Winterthur in May, which is quite an about-face!
