For all you mamas out there that are married or in long term relationships(that have lasted) how did you know that he or she was the right one for you? Was there a moment that you knew they were gonna be the one?

when we got engaged after two weeks of dating. i'd never even CONSIDERED marrying anyone else i'd ever dated.

we'll be married 5 years this year.

I second this! Although I wasn't engaged 2 weeks after dating, I was sure I was going to marry him one day. And like you, a big step concidering I had two other guys express wanting to marry me, and I dropped them screaming.

6 years, and 2 kids this year!

yup, we're on our 2nd kid too... i'm due in april. :)

i hated even thinking about "commiting" to anyone else. there was just something about travis. :P

I first met Shawn(my almost husband- 7 days till our wedding) when i was 13 in middle school. he embarrassed me in the lunch cafeteria, but i still had the biggest crush on him.. (he now tells me the reason he embarrassed me back then was cause he had a crush on me and thats what boys do) anyways.. we ended up going to the same highschool and had the same bus stop- so we used to talk alot, alot. about EVERYTHING.. and it was obvious that we had feelings.. even back then. but he asked me on a date, and i was nervous so i didnt answer him. he thought i turned him down, so he didnt talk to me as much and we ended up not talking for about 4 years. (in which time i had a child with an asshole- and moved in with a weirdo)... well one day he just randomly messaged me via lj to thank me for a doors album i gave him back in highschool. from there we started talking ALL night long on aim, and occassionally on the phone. then i asked him to be my date to a wedding, since my at the time boyfriend didn't want to go..(we were not really into eeach ( ... )

nothing scares me when im with him. i look foward to everything. i used to be terrified of the future, but now im excited.

i knew john was 'the one' because for the first time in my entire life i felt like i could be completely myself and that that would be enough. i didn't feel like i had to be any more this or that than i really was...like i didn't have to put on an act to make him happy AND he is the only person that i can be around for more than two or three days and NOT want to completely kill him. normally even after a couple days in a row of my best friend i'm all "holy cow. i need a break from you." but as soon as we met we spent ever day together and i loved it. i found out i was pregnant all of four weeks after we started dating so people we naturally asking us if that meant we were going to get married. we never really had a moment where he asked me to marry him, we just sort of knew. we will have been married for four years this nov.

i had met him online and through mutual friends and going to shows. most of our time was spent talking online for the beginning of our relationship but after 3wks i remember just knowing.. i even told my close friend at the time i am going to marry him.. we barely knew one another and it wasnt really something i was looking for or planning towards but i knew it.. and now here we are.. i never felt the same about anybody before him. i would say there wasnt a moment i can remember just me feeling out of nowhere he is the one.
