How many more months left in the Bush Administration? How much longer do we have to deal with BS like
this?
Summary: EPA is proposing a modification to the Clean Air Act that protects "Federal Class 1 Areas" (i.e. National Parks) from large emission sources. Previously the "worst case" emissions were used to help ensure that the impacts from a pollution source were minimal, and now EPA is proposing that the average emissions should be used for the analysis.
While this certainly makes my job easier, I hate how various protections that have been in-place for decades are constantly being eroded. January 2009 can't get here fast enough.
In other news, as
neophobic said earlier this week, the "Howlin' Hoedown" for the animal shelter went well last week. We raised over $3000 for the animals, but given the size of the event and the effort that went into it, I feel like we should have raised much, much more. I don't know what we can do to make it better next year, but I'm sure improvements can be made.
Work's going pretty well. I'm getting more involved in Climate Change related work, and it's looking like I'm going to get training for
LEED Accreditation sometime in the near future.
That's about it for now. Looking forward to a nice, relaxing weekend.
