Bday stuff, etc.

Yesterday was fun :). Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes!

After I got off work Mavis, her sister and I went out for dinner at Sammy J. Peppers across from Metrotown. The food was pretty good :), although I was kind of chicken to try anything too spicy. I got the 4 cheese penne with blackened chicken and it was quite good, and not really all that spicy at all. After that we went bowling. Glow in the dark - the best kind :). We're all pretty bad bowlers, but Mavis' sister beat both of us twice. I even got a strike! Go me! :D. After bowling we went to this very cool gelato place. They had some really strange flavours. The weirdest one we all tried was 'Pear Gorgonzola Blue Cheese'. It was kind of tangy and really weird tasting. Probably the worst combination for an icecream. But I think it probably could have tasted a lot worse. I ended up getting a scoop of Tortofu or whatever it was called. It tasted like chocolate and hazelnut. Yum! :D All in all it was a great day. The guys at work were a bit unhappy that I wasn't staying for games night. I think they just wanted to spend a few hours killing me at COD :P. That, or they just wanted to see how horrible I am at Pool. lol.

Then today I went to IKEA. Well actually I went twice. The first time, I completely forgot to measure anything I needed shelves for, or the space I have to put shelves. Gods I'm stupid. But I walked through the whole of IKEA, then went home and measured stuff, and got the measurements of the stuff I saw, off the IKEA website. I also wanted my mom's opinion on what the stuff looked like, and price etc. When I went back, I ended up spending something like $360 on 2 bookcases and 2 display cases. They weighed a bloody ton! I couldn't even lift any of them to slide them onto the cart. Then the cart I had was defective or something because it kept leaning to the right and would barely move. I thought I was going to pull/break something trying to budge the stupid thing. Anyways, I got home delivery cause seriously did I have another option? $10 extra delivery because it's a long weekend. Oh well. Wait till the delivery guys get here and find out there isn't an elevator. Hehe.

I have no idea how I'm going to assemble the stupid things myself. The bookcases are 202cm tall by 80cm wide. And the display cases, are I think 5'4" tall, 4 sides glass. Apparently, it's a very bad idea or impossible to assemble them by yourself -says so in the 'things you should know' section on the website for both of them. The stuff is getting delivered Monday morning, so I'll just have to figure something out.

Ooh and I am totally in love with the song in the new Maynard's candy commercial. The one with the girl who splits into 4 different versions of herself, going down the street each of them eating a different candy. The son is just so catchy! But apparently it's not a real song! Bummer. It's owned by Maynards, performed by Major Maker (a Toronto Band), but never was actually recorded as a full single. :(

"I'm a roller-coaster turning 'round

You look me up when I'm upside down

Turn on my jukebox, follow me

We go together endlessly

whoa whoa whoa "

I'll find the youtube link for the commercial if anyone wants to hear it that hasn't.

Gonna go watch the Canada Day fireworks tomorrow. I love fireworks :D. And I don't think they're too hard to get to somewhere I can see them downtown. Cool :).

Now I plan to sit and be lazy and watch some dvds. I watched Mortal Kombat the other day. Forgot how great that movie is. And I love the techno theme song they have too. It's kind of addictive. lol.
