For my going-away present at work, my coworkers signed a piece of plastic fruit. it's a lovely memento, and i'd like to keep it, but they signed with fine-tip sharpie and some of the sigs are already smeared. Is there a product I can use to seal this? The fruit is just plain old, um, plastic (it's an apple). Not wax or anything. I was thinking about a clear coat spray but am afraid the particles would just smear the ink further. Would clear nail polish dabbed over the signatures work? I don't care how it looks, I just want to preserve them. Thanks!
