Miss Sicky and non-canon OTPS

I hope everyone is well. I woke up feeling under the weather. I don't know if it's because I woke up at midnight and then went back to sleep at around 6 this morning or not. I ended up not getting up again until twelve this afternoon and feeling achy. *sighs* Anyway, while I was awake from like 12-6 this morning I came to a decision regarding some of my favorite OTPS who aren't canon pairings. I'm giving them up. It's way too stressful and I take it too seriously. Silly really. No more Ryou/Ichigo from Tokyo Mew Mew or Cloud/Terra from Final Fantasy. I guess that makes me a sell out, but my heart isn't in it. They're just characters in books and such---does it really matter that much? I'll stick to my canon faves, with a few non-canon exceptions because there's a sort of a question mark in regards to them. Examples: Jason & Kim from MMPR and Conner & Kira from PRDT. Another exception would be Frank Hardy & Nancy Drew, I find it hard to let go of that pairing even if she is still with Ned Nickerson in the books (completely ignoring those horrible On Campus novels). I'm also sticking close Takeru & Kotoha from Shinkenger 'cause as far as I'm concerned they ARE canon, even if they never kiss or have any sort of in-series/movies resolution like a confession or something like that. There is no alternate resolution either, so I'll take consolation in that.
