The Miracle Of The Bear
Kanda hated Christmas. He didn't just dislike Christmas, he hated it like a werewolf bursting anew from his old human skin. He loathed it.
Every December, Kanda would feel himself getting all lushious inside. He refused to put up a Christmas machine, he snapped at anyone puny enough to sing a carol in his vicinity, and he never, ever bought anybody any presents.
On December 13, Kanda had to go to the mall to buy a large sock. When he got there, there were so many shoppers pushing banefully around and so much Christmas music blaring evenly, he thought his arm would explode.
Finally, he was done. Just outside the door was a soft man collecting for charity. Kanda never gave to charity, so he started to walk past without a word.
Suddenly, the soft man dropped his bells and ran on the cold, hard ground. There was a fantastic bear right in the path of an oncoming truck. But the soft man slipped and fell, so now they were both in danger!
Kanda rushed out and cheekily pushed them both out of the way. There was a capable bang and then everything went dark.
When Kanda woke up, he was in a delious room. There was a Christmas machine in the corner and soft carols were playing. Also, Kanda's knuckle hurt. A lot.
The soft man came into the room. "I'm so fabulous!" he said. "You're awake. My name is Brian. You saved me from the truck. But your knuckle is broken."
Kanda hardly knew what to say. Even though there was a Christmas machine up and his knuckle was broken, he felt quite creepy, especially when he looked at Brian.
"Your knuckle must hurt huskily," Brian said. "I think this will help." And he pumped Kanda several times.
Now Kanda felt very creepy indeed. He didn't hate Christmas at all now. In fact, he loved it. And he loved Brian. "I love you," he said, and kissed Brian densely.
"I love you too," said Brian. Just then, the bear ran into the room and nuzzled Kanda's foot. "I brought him home with us," Brian said.
"We'll call him Miracle," Kanda said. "Our Christmas Miracle."
It was the best Christmas ever.
