I got back from my vacation a few days ago. It was the best vacation I have ever had. Here's the run-down.
1st Saturday, I get to CSU for the start of my camping trip. We begin on a high note: WHITE-WATER RAFTING! Shortly thereafter, we arrive at the BEAUTIFUL Pingree Park campus and check into the dorms.
1st Sunday, We have fun on the CSU Ropes Course.
1st Monday, We hike up to Stormy peak, which is a 12-mile round trip and a gain of 3000 feet of elevation. And it was greater than great.
1st Tuesday, ROCK CLIMBING! I then meet with my family and get set for the long drive to Minnesota.
1st Wednesday, We drive to Minnesota. Least eventful day of the trip.
1st Thursday, I meet my Second cousins Robert and Rachel. Rachel was cute, Robeert was loud. Then, instead of restoring a tractor like I thought we would be doing, we go to a baseball game! Fun!
Friday, we drive to CAnnon Falls Illinois to see my Aunt and other Second cousins, Daisy and Ella. Daisy was really Mature for a nine year old, and Ella was the CUTEST kid I have ever seen. She and I made friends really fast.
2nd Saturday, we have a quick breakfast at my Aunts house, then begin a drive to Chicago. We stop at one of my dad's friend's house on the way, talk Baseball over lunch, and then head to my dad's other friends house. There, I find another fun surprise: I get to go to... get this... A PROFESSIONAL SOCCER GAME! Soccer is a much more entertaining sport than most people give it credit for. It's much more fun to watch than American Football. It's still not my favorite sport (Baseball will always top it) but it's firmly in Second right now. My advice for going to Soccer games: sit in the Diehard Fan section. It's the best way to enjoy the game.
2nd Sunday, ANOTHER BASEBALL GAME! YAY!
2nd Monday, get on road to St. Louis after visiting my dad's old univerrsity, Northwestern.
2nd Tuesday, I get to sit around the hotel while my family goes to visit Washington University. while there, I call local game stores on the off chance that I may find Xenogears. Lo and behold, a GameStop in the St. Louis suburbs has a copy just sitting on the racks When my family gets back, I force them to drive me out there, and I obtain the rarest game in all existence, used for 40 bucks WITH CASE. TAKE THAT, AMAZON! Afterwards, we go and have the best meal of the trip.
2nd Wednesday, Dad and I drive to KAnsas City for another baseball game, where I see the White Sox (my dad's favorite team and my hope to win the World Series this year)pulverize the Royals, and my dad catches a foul ball barehanded. Nice conclusion to the trip.
2nd Thursday, the long drive home, followed by playing Xenogears for several hours.
Now, for a couple of random rants.
Betcha all couldn't have guessed that I love baseball, huh? Surprise! The foul ball my dad caught is the fourth in game foul ball that our familiy has recieved, which makes our family pretty damn lucky in foul ball obtaining.
I love my Aunt and Cousins, but for some reason, I can't always relate to them, mostly bbecause I have a distinct fear that I will offend them. Y'see, I'm not very religious, but my Aunt and her immeiate family... is very much a devout christian group. My sister and I both think that we offend them because we aren't a religious family. I hope I can come to good terms with them before I lose my chance...
