It was a well-known fact that vampires slept during the day. And rarely dreamed.
Vicki Vampiress was no exception. Except today it seemed that which made dreams rare for her kind felt like skipping her today.

Veronaville, 1482
"What is for dinner?" Vicki asked her mother with a fangy smile.
"My dinner will be stew. Yours...well, I would not know," Lolita Gossamer replied to her daughter.
The women were interrupted by the door to their little hut swinging open.
"Good afternoon, Vicki! Just your local apothecary-"
"Todd?"
"-OH! Um..."
Vicki had not seen a human run so fast in her life. Lolita errupted into giggles.
"Do not be rude, mother," Vicki huffed. Although she knew it was useless - fairies delighted in such things.
His cheeks were burning, and Todd could swear his heart was trying to burst from his chest. Watcher! To catch Vicki in her...natural beauty with her mother in the room! How embarrassing!
"I suppose I should get dressed," Vicki hummed as she stood, water nearly sloshing over the edge of the tub.
"Going somewhere?" Lolita asked.
"Just for a walk."
"Hello, handsome."

"You know," Todd broke the silence. "I have never met your father. Or seen him."
Vicki blinked. "He is not really...around."
"But he lives?"
Vicki sat up and gently brushed her fingers over Todd's cheek. "Why the interest in my father?"
Todd did not miss the fact that she failed to answer his question. She was clearly avoiding it. Knowing she would tell him in her own time, he decided to drop it. "Oh, no reason. Just curious."
"Well, I would rather do other things," Vicki purred. "My father is not remotely interesting."
"Oh? What other things?"

They returned to the hut later that evening, hands entertwined and smiles on their faces.
But the happiness did not last.
"What the-"
"MOTHER!"
"Well, well, look who finally returns. Took you long enough. I was starting to worry that the iron binding spell my friend here cast on your mother may fade," Elvira Slayer purred menacingly.
"What are you doing here?"
"Tsk tsk. That should be obvious, Victoria."
Elvira turned to her companion. "Do it."

Vicki sat up in shock. A dream. It was just a dream. A really odd dream that made no sense, but a dream no less.
"Hello, Victoria."
She jolted, not having sensed the other presence in the room due to being distracted by her dream. She blinked.
"Father?"
"Todd has been resurrected."
