Day two -- not much better
I got up earlier... mostly cuz I went to bed before 10 last night.....
got out the door a pinch later then I would have liked, but not too bad...my downfall, getting lost in the tunnel system for about 15 mins this morning... which made me late.
system stuff still not working... making it very hard to accomplish anything...
and these people don't have guidelines of what is generally accepted for their contracts!! making it very hard for me to figure how to negotiate for them
my boss did send out an announcement to some of the people regarding my arrival... which apparently eventually got forwarded to someone who I interviewed with in the commercial group... and they came over with a WARM welcome
also took me around to meet a few other commercial people...
I went to lunch with another old Duke person today -- yay because my boss def was not steppin up for that....
and I received to generally impossible tasks to complete because I don't have access to the systems or because my boss's bos has already pissed off the people I need info from and now they don't want to help me... doesn't help that her name is Rebecca....
and I had to stay late! UGH! Not right to have to stay late on your second day!!
wish me luck navigating the tunnels in the morning...
the upside... I have lunch plans for tomorrow too!! YAY for not eating lunch by yourself!
the MOST retarded thing... I got home from work to a message on my home answering maching from the HR department asking for a form I was missing....please note that same said form was discussed via email with someone else in HR yesterday via email... and UMMMMM, why you call me during business hours at home????
really wondering what in the world I have gotten myself into!!
