Fic Recs & stuff
I laid awake last night thinking about Logan and Tapes.
Isn't it interesting that RT has Logan creating a memorial tape for Lilly in 1.04, complaining that all the footage is cookie-cutter good girl nonsense that *wasn't* Lilly. The preservation of an "accurate" memory is something that Logan is very stuck on, in S1 at least. And now he's moved into the "I loved her" realm, where he's attempting to perserve her (lack of) virtue by deleting the proof that side of her exists. Interesting dichotomy, huh?
My pal who I love to argue VM with, e-mailed me about how she thought Logan was selfish and self-absorbed in taking the tape. I'm still on the fence on this, because part of me wonders if I'd have done the same thing. No matter what, he loved Lilly, and I don't blame him for wanting to protect that love to some extend by not allowing the exposure of a truth that could degrade that love.
Yes, and I'm aware that instead of thinking about the tapes I ought to be working on those papers that, as usual, are stubbornly NOT writing themselves. Ugh.
