Night Sonnet

Jun 09, 2005 23:11

Sometimes I'd lie awake in the night,
Staring at the sky or into the dark.
My fears and my dreams would often take flight,
Twisting and turning but making no mark.
The stars up above would sparkle and glow,
And would make webs on the ebony sky.
The moon would hang bright up high or down low,
Like a great paper lantern hanging up nigh.
Those long lonely nights spent just with a thought,
Where the glow of the sky would light my way.
Have now faded like the stars I once sought,
And no longer do I dread the oncoming day.
Because now I know I was not alone,
For His grace and His love to me has been shown.

Thank You for everything You have given to me. I wouldn't be where I am today without Your Mercy.
