New Year's Day

The last day of my house sitting was a bit stressful.

I think I washed and dried about 10 loads of laundry when I was there. I
have never seen anything like the mounds of laundry in that house. I only
folded about a third of those loads, having planned to fold more Sunday
evening.

I did run home to get more clothes and to feed the cat. Then I got back to
Jessica's and texted her about something, to learn that I was once again
confused and thought I was going to be there until Monday. But she told me
that they were returning Sunday. Foiled again!

Then I started rushing around like a crazy person, packing and cleaning up
my stuff. Somewhere in there, the tricky front door opened and of course
Rex ran away. I was way pissed off, putting on a coat and boots when the
little devil returned.

Needless to say, I did not accomplish everything I had wanted to do, and I
was exhausted when I got home. Three dogs is a lot!

Yesterday, the reason for my exhaustion revealed itself as my runny nose
turned into a rather nasty cold. So I have taken it easy the last couple of
days. I was delighted to have Jason take the dogs out.

I got a good many things organized and even managed to "write" a couple of
blog posts for the Wisconsin Food Forest. I confess that I mostly
plagiarized some information that I had. But the photos were mine. I expect
I will get more inspired to come up with something original, but I needed
to get a start.

Watched Birdbox last night, at the suggestion of my daughter. I somehow
managed to miss all the buzz about it before (I'm good at that). I thought
it was pretty good. Horror is not my genre, but at least it wasn't too gory.

I looked it up, of course, and the article said that it was about the woman
being ambivalent about parenthood. Jess looked it up and read it was about
racism and white privilege. Ha ha. I just thought it was a horror movie
that was creepy.

Just got done watching several episodes of Jamestown on PBS. It is
excellent and quite brutal. Those were the good old days.

I have been working with the rune Kenaz.

It was good to have a day off from having my head drilled.
