I LOVE PEJA STOJAKOVIC ... and my roommate is crazy

Ok, my roommate is threatening her turtle, and now insulting it, because it won't jump. She's weird ... but she's my homeslice, so we've got mad (insert some ghetto phrase of affection).

Anyways, had an awesome adventure this afternoon with my pal Karina (we've been friends since kindergarten ... how awesome is that?). So after waiting around for the dawdling Bus of Metro and the number 2, we cruised along sunset in style for over an hour. A definite must if you have $1.25 and nothing else to do. The route goes through the nicest area in town, to the ritzy party life, to hollywood (no adjective needed), to one of the ghetto-ist places i've seen. We hopped off and headed past some shady parking lots to Staples Center!!! (insert sound effects) With 2 dozen search lights sweeping the sky, and its signature blue-lit entrance, the place was hard to miss. Karina and I strolled inside looking like superstars in our respective outfits of peja jersey and purple shirt. The thrill of basketball arenas is just amazing. The rush, the excitement of 19,000+ eager fans and 20 or so super athletic guys. Night time games just add to the thrill - the lights glowing out of darkness ... its fab ... i wish i was an english major so i could better express the beauty of it, the love for life it generates. Our eBay tickets were fantastic - a total steal $57.49 for two tickets normally $42 each. Kinda behind the basket, but close enough that it didn't matter. Although my crush has faded and the boy's got a kid and girlfriend?wife? I still felt that little chill when I saw Peja again. With a shot like that, how could I not still be in awe of him. I'll be honest ... the game was slow at first. Lots of missed shots, turn overs, the works. I reconsidered the intelligence of my financial investment. Going into the 4th quarter we were down like 11. This Clippers fan behind me was feeling the full effects of his first corona (and its brothers that he later polished off), shouting to the point that even his wife was embarrased. The feeling of worry crept in. I'm not as hard core about basketball as I used to be (mainly for health reasons ... the stress was just killing me), so I fell into a resigned silence, with just a pinch of hope remaining. A few missed shots by the Clippers and some nice work by one of my many new Kings and we were within 5. Let me just say, of the original Kings team I fell in love with all those years ago, only 2 are remaining. My boys were not mine anymore. I hardly recognized anyone. Anyways, the basket widened and the 3s started falling at a pace impressive enough to threaten the rain for this year. The score went back and forth, nitpicking fouls were called left and right, blatant fouls were overlooked, the place was going wild. Kings fans screaming, clippers fans screaming, my mom screaming ... wait nevermind, your mom ... oh wait, that was last night. People on their feet. Babies flying. It was awesome. This random Kings guy delivered the clutch game winning shot ... but traveled. Clippers dude brings up the ball, misses the shot and overtime! Financial investment definitely sound. Overtime was close, but my boys came through. Yes, mine. I'm reclaiming them, and picking up the newbies. That is until Peja leaves - i'll follow that shot anywhere it goes. Thank the heavens for europeans who can actually score from anywhere ... even a nunnery.

Grabbed a cab back ... like 20minute ride max and headed on back to Dykstra for sexy stuffed animal snuggling. Peace out homie-g's I love you all so very much. I love life, I love my friends, I love the Kings, I may even consider trying out this religion thing and loving a greater essence too. You're all so wonderful! Kisses, hugs!
