I was so excited I did the Splits!!!
Last week I hinted that I may have a big announcement to make!!! Yay!!! Today it is official! I received a promotion in the Women and Gender Studies Department. My new position is as an Office Assistant Sr. It may not sound prestigious but here is why it is a big deal:
I have a tuition waiver. (Tuition now costs $75 a semester)
I now have benefits, health and dental (my mother is ecstatic)
I get sick and vacation time.(this monday is my first paid holiday)
I get paid a lot more! Actually it is a salary!
Consequently, I have quit at the bookstore. Four years of being taken for granted is 4 years too long. My last day is September 8th.
This is a great opportunity I can not tell you how happy all of this makes me.
