Eeek, it's been nearly a month since I posted. It's not just that this place is slow now...I've just been busy!
We're about to head on our first camping trip of the year--so excited! It's at a state park that I've never been to (well, I may have on a field trip as a kid or something, but never spent significant time there), but it's only about a half hour or so from where I grew up. There were just a good handful of amazing ones out there, it never happened.
My brother has a house painting gig in Florida for several weeks. We'll see how he does. Hopefully it at least gives him a confidence boost, due to his anxiety about trying new things. One kind of cool thing is it's housepainting, and he's pleasantly surprised to find he loves it. He's excelled at warehouse work--when he's been working--so this gives him some insight into what he enjoys and also a bit of experience.
Work continues to go well. I must admit, I love having a job that consists of things like people sending me woodpecker videos, procuring native plants for adorable Girl Scouts for their restoration, organizing cardboard canoe races, and the like. A good fit.
One of my old roommates is supposed to be visiting at the end of the month. We'll see if I can get the house presentable on time. She was pretty messy, but that's beside the point. Her husband has never been to New England, so it will be cool to show him around.
I love summer. Okay, we're not quite there yet, but still...
