We made it through the storms okay. We got the 18 inches predicted (well, technically I think it was 17.6) but originally it was maybe supposed to be that much of heavy snow, and it wasn't too heavy, which helped both on our own property and in the park. And now? We had a couple of 60 degree days and it is all gone! Again, worried about basement floodings and trail wash-outs but it is not bad. Perhaps the ground was still frozen enough it moderated that? I don't know much about such details but good, I suppose.

I'll have an extra intense end-of-the month with a big grant due, launch of a lecture series, newsletter due and a two-day training. At least people are being cognizant and appreciative of it now, so I think we'll make it through!

Fiona just had her birthday--6! I suppose we really got our 80s music fix. We went to the roller rink during the day, and out with friends to kareoke at night. I got roped up there twice, at least with a group (I can't sing). Once for Fat Bottomed Girls which I didn't feel--I feel like you need a routine for that. And once for Like a Prayer which was more fun but exhausting to sing, such a face-based and extended chorus at the end--I didn't realize as a non-singer!
