Yeah, we're so back and forth about staying put (great location, decent rent, great landlord), and actually owning something. . . we're going to be in the area for a MINIMUM of 9 more years because Pete's youngest daughter is only 9.
I'd really rather live in MA, although the prices are more attractive in NH, we both work in MA and would have to pay taxes here anyow. . . and the property taxes are higher in NH.
I so feel your home buying pain. I just bought a condo in March and I had no idea what I was doing. So I asked my father, but apparently he thought I wasn't ready so he left all the details out and only told me a few very broad ideas on home buying. So when it came down to it, things were much different and a lot more difficult than I had thought. But you'll get through it. If I can remember anything from that ordeal and my hair ripping out experience, I'll be glad to share :).
