On Saturday I was attending Robofest (youth robotics competition) at LTU, because I'm going to work for the director of the program and he wanted me to get an idea of the kind of events they host. After the event, this mildly creepy older guy (I'm 24, I figure he's got a good 10 years on me at least) came up and randomly started hitting on me. At first I thought he was just being friendly, but then he made this awkward comment about how the blue shirt I had on "went with my eyes" (which aren't blue, actually,) and I realized he thought he was flirting. I probably should have realized it by the oddly desperate grin he was wearing.
At that point I started acting really obviously uncomfortable/bored, looking around the room, not making eye contact, responding unenthusiastically with monosyllabic grunts, etc., but he WOULD. NOT. TAKE. THE. HINT, even when I tried to WALK AWAY from him twice, he just followed me JABBERING. When I got close to where my new boss was, it finally dawned on this guy that I was trying to go somewhere and he left, after saying "maybe I can talk to you again next time" (PLEASE GOD NO.) After I left, he f'n pulled up behind me in his truck as I was walking to my car and was like "do you need a ride?" I was like "NO MY CAR IS RIGHT OVER THERE." Who offers a ride in their car to a girl they met 2 hours ago?
I just really hope creeper doesn't show up in my vicinity again...but if he does I think I'm going to pull the old "I have a (fake) boyfriend" line on him so he'll LEAVE ME ALONE. What the crap, seriously. I wasn't even done up, I had on terrible work clothes, my hair was all over and I looked like death on account of I hadn't got enough sleep the night before. Still a bit creeped out quite frankly.
