That's how Rylie's home had been around the holidays not too long ago. Four children, parents, and grandparents... running around like lunatics and not bothering to pick up after themselves. As the last of the Logan clan, Rylie, came of age? Well, then the presents were less numerous and a little more space opened up.

The pandemonium, as Sean described things, was still very much the same. One brother cooking enough food for an entire village, another brother playing football in the house and knocking over expensive trinkets (you'd think one would learn, as Rylie was so very tired of performing repairing charms), and a sister cutting up her clothing to make it into a more fashionable wardrobe!

As much as Rylie loved her family and was made even more happy by her newborn niece, she was thrilled at the prospect of a day spent with Sean Brightwell outside of Hogwarts. They were both seventh years, after all, and in need of preparation for the outside world! What better way to ensure their friendship would last than by visiting the ( ... )

"Y'know," Cody said in exhausted sort of way, "Like, I bet ye can't bollocks up a scourgify too bad, can ye?" When Sean shot his younger brother an exasperated, annoyed, 'did'ye know about me an' magic an' how we're incompatible?' sort of look, Cody added, "Jes' give it a try!"

So Sean retrieved his wand from where it was sticking happily out of his shoe (if wands could stick happily out of shoes, and he believed they could), aimed it at the incredibly messy coffee table, and said "Scourgify," which seemed to do absolutely NOTHING.

"Well, do a vanishing spell, then, since it's... well, it isn't so much dirt as it is jes' messy an' all," Cody suggested, because fourteen year old boys were apparently very forthcoming with the suggestions these days.

Impatiently, Sean stamped his foot, aimed his wand again, muttered "Evanesco," and was dismayed to find that the coffee table had DISAPPEARED. Fortunately, the mess had disappeared as well, but... so had the coffee table ( ... )

Rylie Logan would never think to place her wand in her shoe. It was yet another thing she enjoyed about being friends with Sean Brightwell. She had the ability to write expressively, to formulate plots within minutes, but clever and creative things like wands in shoes? She wasn't so sure she'd be able to include things of that sort without him around. Truly an inspiration!

She chuckled at Sean's enthusiastic greeting, nodding her head a the mention of non-splinching.

"I know! I was so worried I'd end up at your home with only one arm! Or... not end up here at all, possibly," Rylie told him, eyes wide as he grabbed her arm and pulled her inside. Ah, apparently he was really excited to see her? Or needed advice about a vanished coffee table. She couldn't say she had much experience in that area.

"Aparecium?" she suggested quietly, scanning the rooms with a grin. So this was where Sean Brightwell lived when not at Hogwarts. How incredibly fascinating ( ... )

"Well! A one-armed Rylie would still be all right, though I s'pose I prefer ye with all limbs intact." Sean smiled happily, both very excited to see her and in need of advice about vanished coffee tables. Although, Rylie was a priority, of course!

"Aparecium," he repeated under his breath, trying to remember a Charms lesson, any Charms lesson. "That might do it..." His brow was furrowed seriously, but seriousness had never been an expression or state-of-being that Sean Brightwell could hold onto for very long, so when Rylie remembered the customary holiday greeting, his face lit up -- vanished coffee tables momentarily forgotten ( ... )
