There was a loud slam on the desk in the library as Lucern sat there, disconcerted. The book that he had just been reading had not pulled him away from his thoughts about last night as he hoped it would. The amount of sleep, or lack there of, he achieved at the time did not improve matters either. He threw his annoyed glance at everyone and anyone who looked at him to make them shudder away before he tossed the book on the growing pile in front of them. Even Madam Pince dared not to walk over to him to say something. If she had, Lucern could not even begin to think of what he would have done; would he have tried to calm himself down and listen to the woman, or lose his cool and blow his top at her, in front of the members of the student body in the room? Neither situation seemed to be pleasing Lucern at the moment.
It was just a dream. A nightmare. It could not have been true. Pre-marital jitters starting early perhaps? Lucern did always have some insecurity ever since.. but that had nothing to do with Dira. She loved him, he knew she did. Was that just something he told himself? Did she really mean those three words when she had said them?
When the time came, would she say 'I do'?
